about
Ben Kae Chomos acquired the pseudonym of Kisinja when he had the privilege of singing for the US secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, in 1974.
Hailing from the Sabaot community from the slopes of Mt. Elgon, Ben Kisinja's music is laden with the Sabaor people's past and present experiences, the lost glory of the old days and the current conflicts arising from the cattle rustling and scarcity of land.
A former president of the Sabaot Land Defence Force, Kisinja plays the six-stringed Saboat harp called 'Bukandit' in his song 'Kiseete' (Looking for adventures) which is a sad song about the search for stolen cattle.
