In this original version, Sammy Ngaku tells us that he hail from Riabai where his mother Ngendo was buried. he learnt of his mother's death in hospital on the third of August. Although he knows that the angels have taken his mother to Heaven, he is both sad and frightened by the fact that he will never see her alive again, leading him to mourn for eight whole months.
