Doris' musical voyage began at high scholl, performing as a dancer, drummer and soloist in the annual Kenya National Music Festivals. Doris hails from the Tugen community and mostly performs songs in the Kelnjin language. She is teaching herself to play the guitar and recently started performing with one of Kenya's most sought after group, the Maroon Commandos. She is the proud winner of the 1st prize at the 2006 Ibiza Talent Search Competition sponsored by leading Kenyan FM stations. Doris' husky and sensuous voice implores the return of a lost love in her Kalenjin song 'Kipla', performed to an Afro-salsa beat.
