from Retracing Kikuyu Popular Music by Various Artists

/

about

Sung in the traditional Mucun'gwa style of the Gikuyu people, Kamaru's song explains the dangers of alcohol. He says the booze has no teachers because under its influence one loses control of ones conduct. His conclusion: Let those who drink continue doing so at their own peril and let those who don't be advised to desist.
